Dr. David Justice is a Board Certified Psychiatrist, a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. A native of California, he received his MD from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Justice completed his residency at the William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute in Columbia. He has worked previously in private practice, as Medical Director for the Critical Incident Recovery Team at the Dorn Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Columbia, and as the Chief of Psychiatric Services for the Santee Wateree Mental Health Center. He is the Director of Behavioral Health and Director of Obesity Medicine for Sumter Family Health Center. He is also active in teaching and holds a position as Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg.
Dr. Justice’s professional interests include the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, stress related illness and stress management, spirituality and medicine, and the integration of alternative strategies such as mindfulness meditation and yoga in medicine.
Dr. Justice and his wife reside in Sumter, SC.
